Back in Los Angeles

I was back in Los Angeles and deplore it that I had to leave again...

I arrived a few days ago when I started the editing of the chapter on Los Angeles in our ports book. Now there is not a new port city that I can visit, because Los Angeles is the last port in our book. Again I saw the nice people we visited in LA, of the port of LA and the neighboring port of LB, Long Beach, but also other people we met there such as the mural painter Francisco Letelier and the historian and psychiatrist Peter Loewenberg -- to mention only two of the many people we met there.
At the begining of our account of the meeting with Peter Loewenberg we tell that he is "slender" (translated from the Dutch "slank") and I learned from a search on the internet that "slim" and "slender"are not the same: "Slender implies leanness or spareness often with grace and good proportion. Slim applies to slenderness that suggests fragility or scantiness."
In the piece about Francisco Letelier, I changed the English translation "Francisco could no longer settle in Chile and settled in Venice, the bohemian district of Los Angeles" into, "Francisco no longer felt at home in Chile and settled in Venice, the bohemian district of Los Angeles."

I have made many more changes to the google translation, giving me the pleasure of the art of translating, but also the joy of having been back to LA.
